Astrology is an excellent tool for understanding ourselves and others. These days it’s fairly easy to find a website or software that will cast a chart but how do you start interpreting it?

This workshop will give an overview of three basic building blocks of an astrology chart: houses and hemispheres, sign elements and sign modalities. These have been chosen as a starting point because analysing and combining them provides an outline of the personality behind the chart.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous knowledge of astrology needed. Those with some understanding may find a fresh new angle on the basics. There will be illustrations, example charts, a place for your questions and a printed summary to take home.

Who we are

A group for anyone interested in astrology. Everyone is welcome, no previous knowledge needed. About once a month we meet for an 'Astro Social' and starting from March 2019 the plan is to run a weekly programme of workshops where you can learn the basics or explore an aspect of astrology in depth.

The socials are a space to meet likeminded people and chat about everything astrology and beyond. There's always a chance to have your questions answered by astrologers or get a mini reading of your chart. If you're a seasoned chart reader yourself your contribution will help us all learn which is one of the objectives of the group. We often bring Tarot cards as well.

Whether you are a professional astrologer or someone who's always wondered what it's all about but never got round to finding out, we look forward to meeting you!
Find us on Facebook and Meetup.

Astro Social

Friday, October 19, 2018, 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Caffe Nero, 8/9 Lower Temple St, Birmingham, B2 4JD, Birmingham

Ideally please RSVP through the Meetup site (free to join).

Meet like-minded people and discuss everything astrology over a hot drink on a cold October evening.

I'm not giving this any theme to keep things open and invite chance and synchronicity to enter our circle and hopefully create some unplanned magic. We usually talk in astrological terms at times but everyone is welcome, no matter their experience of astrology so far. And if astrology is the language of the universe, sometimes the best way to learn a language is by immersion in the culture! There is always space to look at people's charts if they wish and the conversation often meanders into other spiritual, philosophical as well as ordinary topics.

The cafe where we meet is just outside New Street station, across the tram line. We'll try to get a table downstairs where it's quieter and I'll put a si…

Relax, create and learn - astrology mandalas workshop

Mandalas, usually circular in shape, are diagrams of ordered elements understood to represent a totality, whether it's the Universe or the Self in Jungian psychology. Drawing them can help restore such order and integration to our inner life (as well as create an attractive image).

I've certainly enjoyed making these astrology illustrations and would like to share them with you. You can either pick some to colour in or create your own. I'll bring papers, the printed colouring sheets, compass, coloured pencils and some pens but feel free to bring your own materials (just please stick to dry media; no paints).

This workshop is suitable for anyone with an interest in astrology, no previous knowledge needed. It has several aims:

* spend some relaxing time with a friendly group while creating

* learn/brush up on some importa…
